Never compromise on quality
When you empower more than just professional writers and designers to create content, it’s inevitable that sometimes the copy or visual appearance might differ from your brand’s style. Mistakes happen, and that’s fully okay (and human) — but it’s relatively easy to avoid these mishaps.
Keeping quality in check throughout content production is important, and it saves you a lot of time at the later stages of the publishing process. Incorporate consistent quality checks during different stages of the content creation workflow.
Best practices to secure quality
- Include a messaging check by the brand governors of your team, e.g., Brand & Comms, in one of the first steps of the workflow.
- Make sure all the writers know your branding and messaging by heart and use a proofreading tool.
- Make sure your content creators have easy access to your brand guide. Take a look at our brand guide.
- Use templates provided/approved by your creative team.
- Build a comprehensive pre-publishing quality checklist and set it as the last step in the workflow.
Pre-publishing quality check
As one of the last steps in the content creation workflow, it’s good (read: essential) to have a fixed pre-publishing quality assurance. This can be anything from a Google doc with a bulleted list to an extensive step-by-step checklist that guides the user from beginning to end. Whatever tool you decide to use, make sure that the quality checklist is logical, concise, and easy to use.
